I take a lot of pictures of food. I just really like food and want to take photos of it, even if I have no use for the photos. So you’re getting some of my leftover food pictures.
This is something I eat a lot: an egg sandwich. Toasted wheat bread, Miracle Whip (I know, it is disgusting–but it is my egg sandwich secret!), and a fried egg. I grew up eating these and think the very first thing I ever cooked was likely an egg sandwich. I’ve been fryin’ eggs since childhood.
One of my other favorite sandwiches! Toasted wheat bread, mayonnaise, mustard, turkey, swiss, and avocado.
I have a sandwich problem. I also have an avocado problem. This photo is making me reminiscent! I used to get these spicy salami sandwiches at the commissary in Italy.
But I have to say there are definitely some benefits to being back in Texas!
Blue Bell, you have no idea how much I missed you.
It’s nice to get a chai tea frappucino whenever I want. However, I definitely miss Italian cafes much more more than I ever missed Starbucks.
I miss Kinder chocolates but stock up every time I go to World Market.
The best part of spring!
Blue Bell is my favorite ice cream EVER.
And rightly so! They have a creamery here in Texas that I’ve been to a couple times. It’s between Houston and Austin, so we went on school trips a few times. Sadly, it is not close to where i live now.
I had an egg sandwhich for breakfast this morning and thought of you!
mmm, so much deliciousness in this post!
You are a girl after my own heart.
I eat the same egg sandwhich… but with fried bologna (when I can!).. oh it’s so good.
Everytime I cross the border, I ALWAYS pick up boxes of the bueno’s. That’s my favorite chocolate hands down. I currently have 8 boxes in my fridge. No lie.
I eat Avacado’s like they are going out of style.
Loved the post!
When people asked me what I would miss about leaving Italy, I usually said the candy. Everyone assumed i was joking, but I definitely wasn’t. I don’t like peanut butter and am in love with hazelnuts, so it is a perfect fit!
I have never heard of fried bologna! That sounds horribly delicious. I used to put a slice of cheddar cheese on my sandwich, but I don’t do that recently because I don’t think it really needs it!
Those are some of my favorite sandwiches as well. I’m a sandwich junkie lol. I love coming up with new combinations!
I have to agree with you that a benefit of living in tx is because of blue bell ice cream. Its my favorite brand!
Oh my goodness i forgot to tell you that we do in fact sell Kinder eggs in the uk, I was in the co-op the other day and i saw them on the shelf and thought of you!!
And thank you for your sweet comments, they made me smile so much because i think the exact same about you and your life!!
It is so bizarre that Kinder eggs are not allowed to be sold here! The other day I saw a FAKE Kinder egg–similar packaging design and the same concept–at a grocery store. I had to buy it to see. It was from Mexico and tasted horrible!
there are so many different types of ice creams up here that i actually found that i didn’t like blue bell so much when i went home last. there are tons that are homemade and everything. so very good.
also, i spread those triangle pieces of french onion laughing cow cheese on my egg sandwiches. better than sliced cheese. or miracle whip. but, then again, i don’t like mayonnaise.
I love toasted egg sandwiches, but usually I eat them with scrambled eggs. After reading this post, I decided to try it with a fried egg this morning (it was actually the first time I’ve ever eaten a fried egg!) It was delicious! Thanks for the inspiration (:
Yay! That is the only way I can eat a fried egg. I eat open-face sandwiches with scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese sometimes too!
