Inspired by Mad Men

AMC’s show Mad Men is completely underrated. Maybe because it’s on cable, but I only know a few people who watch it. It’s a favorite in my house right now–my husband likes it for the plot, and I like because I get to gasp about how beautiful the clothes are.

Set in the 1960’s, the characters always look freshly primped and dress exactly how I wish I could dress every day. The men are tailored to perfection, making me wish I knew more about mens clothes. Betty Draper (January Jones) is the most conventional and my favorite, though I can’t help but love how well Joan’s clothes fit her. This show makes me want to gain about 35 pounds and work in an office because Joan (Christina Hendricks) does it so well.

Isaac Mizrahi for Target is always my go-to for vintage-style clothes that can still work in the real world. The fit of his clothes are amazing on me as well! I bought this dress in the spring:

Love the ponte dress! I’m a sucker for monotone skirts and dresses. And yes, it does have that timeless style radiating from it! If only Aussie Target has that….
